Melissa Schaeffer feels honored to have her artwork, OCEAN from ICELAND SERIES, donated by Charles Auerbach and permanently installed in the outpatient oncology department at MarinHealth Medical Center (formerly Marin General Hospital).

The artwork inspired a healing room to be named “Melissa’s Room of Life.” All of this was through the efforts of Rooms That Rock 4 Chemo.

The artwork is a meditation for patients and their families and a place for soothing respite for their healers and them during their time of healing.  The meaning of the artwork is embodied in the words viewed with it – “All life begins in the ocean.”  She believes in the work of Rooms That Rock 4 Chemo, as she believes there is an alliance between healing and art.
